  • Great little museum that they are adding onto.

  • MacBride Museum in town. The log building doesn’t look all that big, but the inside is crammed with displays that cover the history and culture of the area from the days of the First Nations people to the gold rush days, to the building and growth of Whitehorse. There is a display of indigenous animals that is really quite an amazing example of the art of taxidermy. Other displays tell often humorous stories of many Yukon characters. And speaking of characters, the museum houses the actual cabin built by Sam McGee who inspired Robert Service’s famous poem “The Cremation of Sam McGee”. This museum is a must see in Whitehorse. • Oldest museum in the Yukon with a fantastic collection. I go here often with my children, and I take family when they visit
